This App Makes Text Darker.

I have had this extension for some years and used it where I could to make those skinny grey fonts more readable. It was user friendly and did what it said.

However, Jarrad recently updated it to include a semibold option. This opened up a whole new world for me - it is now the most used tool in my computer. No more skinny grey fonts and no more ugly black bolds.

I read a lot of newspapers and I'm yet to encounter a strange font that I can't easily make more readable. In spite of it's name, it works just as well on Edge. Give it a try.

A side effect of using the app was, as you thought, the loss of icons in outlook mail. This only happens in the browser version of outlook - the app version is unaffected. The same effect was evident in all of the other font change extensions I tried - as soon as you invoked a weight higher than normal, the icons disappeared.

This extension is now as good as anyone could ask for. It's in a class of it's own.

I'm glad I ignored the 2.8-star rating and tried this out. It's a huge and immediate quality-of-life improvement.

I really love your program. I am 77 years old this year and of course my eyes aren't as good as when I was younger. It wasn't so bad until the programmers started using gray text. They are even doing it in magazines! Real skinny and gray text. Terrible...

I have been using this for some months and I could not read my daily online newspaper without it. It is well worth the few dollars it costs to be able to read again.

I suffer from macular degeneration, and have been having increasing difficulty in reading the light type on my computer screen. So I was pleased to find your solution online and have now installed it. The process was flawless and I am very pleased with the darkness of the text on Chrome.

The app is a godsend for reading The Australian, I would have to give up reading were it not for your app. Readers' comments are, however, too faint, so being able to darken those with the use of the app will be wonderful.

To set the scene - I'm 90 yo and slowly losing my vision.

I have adapted to this with a large monitor, instant zoom etc , but my stumbling block has been font weight. I somewhat naively imagined a “font weight slider” which would progressively render the font from light to bold - like a font size slider.

Not so! I soon discovered that the weights available were only the ones provided by the font itself.

I have tried most if not all of the font weight extensions on Chrome and for me they have all been uncertain or clunky and difficult to manage. A couple of them have been sliders, working the range from 100 to 700 but they seemed to have range and scale problems and didn't work well for me.

I keep returning to your app, it is very user friendly. It does what it says.

My grandparents have struggled with chromes default font size so I purchased this for them. It is extremely helpful and straightforward for them to use.

If you have loved ones that struggle reading chromes font size, I would highly recommend this extension.
